leahHello! My name is Leah Martensen. I am the Director of Simply Ministry and the Vice President of Artist Community for Incubator Creative Group.  I wanted to write a few words about why I am so excited about Simply Ministry.

You see, I was an artist on the roster of Incubator for six years from 1994 to 2000.  And, if it weren’t for Incubator, I wouldn’t be where I am today as a Christian performer. They are Christian music’s only incubator organization, creating a nurturing environment for early stage music ministries to grow to the thriving level.  They sure helped me do that.

“Simply Ministry is nothing like
everything else in the
Christian music industry.”

If you check out my web site and social networking sites, you’ll notice that my booking calendar as an artist has a LOT of activity on it.  Since my time on the Incubator roster, I travel an average of 50 dates per year and I’ve been able to share my ministry internationally. It’s been very exciting for me to come back around years later and become a part of the management team of the company that helped me so much during my early stage as a music ministry.

One of the biggest things I absorbed at my time in the incubator was the understanding of what real music ministry is and what it takes to make it work.  They helped me define and grow in my mission focus of  “turning your mess into a message”.  So, I started talking with Incubator about expanding my ministry into helping other artists experience the same kind of success as me.  And it is so cool to see how God is knitting us together in an even tighter relationship than we had when I was on the roster.

As we talked about my move to management with Incubator, Nate Sakany (the Founder and President of Incubator) really listened to me and my ideas.  As a result of our discussions, Incubator has agreed to launch a brand new way to help artists called, Simply Ministry.

First of all, there is nothing else like Simply Ministry out there to help emerging Christian artists.  One of the things that really bugs me about all the Christian music seminars and conferences and talent contests and other ‘artist development’ companies is that they just keep rehashing the same old stuff… and it simply doesn’t work.

I told Nate I wanted something that really laid out stuff that would help people. And could give them some personal attention.  And so we ‘hatched’ something new… Simply Ministry. It is an exclusive, invitation-only business and marketing boot camp for Christian musicians and communicators.  And it is taking place Frday through Sunday, September 17-19, 2010 in Eugene, Oregon (at an unpublished and restricted location).

Given the exclusive and niche focus of Simply Ministry, it is destined to be renown as the single most successful event to launch more music ministries than any other experience in the Christian music industry.  Yours could be one of them.

Simply Ministry is not an open-to-the-public event.  It’s private. It is an intense 3-day weekend for a handpicked group of registrants. Attendance at Simply Ministry is restricted to this pre-selected elite group that is sincerely committed to the concept of music as ministry.  And who are also committed to treating their ministry vision as a serious and worthy enterprise.

Attendance is by invitation only after approval through a preliminary application process.  But, I’ll bet you are going to be pleasantly surprised at the kind of qualifications we are looking for.  It’s nothing like everything else in the Christian music industry.

It’s about an artist’s heart and vision, not just their musical talent or songs.  Although Simply Ministry is a business and marketing boot camp, it has a decidedly “non music industry” focus. If you want to serve God with your musical talents and you don’t want the tired old model of the music industry or the frustrating route of the typical indie artist, what you want is Simply Ministry.

So, does that sound like something you’re interested in?  Sure, I know you have a lot more questions. We have lots more information for you.

Applications for Simply Ministry will not open up until July 12th, 2010. On that date, the Application page of this website will go "LIVE" and we will officially begin accepting applications to attend Simply Ministry.  Applications will be offered on a first come, first-served basis.  And we expect to fill up the space within the first few hours of the launch of that special web page.

So, right now, I need to know if you are someone I should keep on the ‘insider’s track’ for Simply Ministry.  If you think you might want to be a part, don’t miss out on this opportunity. Don’t worry about the details or the costs.  We have lots of ways to solve any problems for the right people.

Click the link below to let me know you want personal attention from me.  I’ll make sure you are in the front of the line.  I’ll be able to get you advance information, even before the application web page goes live. And I can tell you how to be one of the first applications we receive.
